Felting day cancelled

This will not be a surprise to anyone.  Felting day this Saturday is cancelled due to us all being at level 3.  I hope lockdown is being kind to you and that you had a good stash that you have been able to access.  I'm sure you all did.  Thinking of the essential workers amongst us who have had to continue to work and we all thank you.

New creative store in Christchurch

New Creative Pop-Up Store in Christchurch

Not strictly felting but too exciting to not advertise this.

There is a new kid in town, called Assembly Point Pop Up…. Well, not completely new, but a new set-up. The pop-up shop is created by the team of Assembly Point. This one is a new creative pop-up store, in the heart of Christchurch CBD. The work of heaps of local artists & creatives is on display and available for purchase. Various workshops will take place as well.

Lux Flakes
Victoria tells me she has had to find a new supplier of Lux flakes. New world used to have it but not any more. She has found a good supply at Fresh Choice Barrington.

Felting on National Radio
Did anyone else hear the interview with Chris Parker this morning on National Radio? He is a NZ comedian who became a sensation over lockdown by felting small needle felted animals. You can listen to it via national radios website. Below is a photo of Chris wearing his felt had that is now in a museum (Te Papa?). It has lockdown personalities on it including Ashley Bloomfield and Siouxsie Wiles.

Yes, felting is on this Saturday

We have booked the first Saturday of the month all year and the April felting day happens to fall on Easter weekend this year.

Jane is going to be there so I urge all fellow felters to turn up and keep her company.  Maybe its a chance to make something big and ambitious?

All welcome including new people.
